Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 40 wontons
- 12 ounce Chinese egg noodles
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 inch fresh ginger (peeled)
- 4 dried shiitake mushrooms
- 2 tablespoon dried shrimp ((optional))
- 1/2 cup green onions (stems removed)
- 2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 cup char siu (Chinese BBQ Pork) (sliced (optional))
- 2 tablespoon diced green onions ((for garnish))
- 1-2 cups fried wonton strips ((for serving))
Instruction
- Place the ginger, green onions, dried shiitakes, dried shrimp and soy sauce in a large pot with the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes. Taste the broth and add additional salt to taste. If you used unsalted or homemade broth, you may need to add additional salt.
- While the broth is simmering, cook the wontons and noodles according to the instructions on the package(s) and set aside.
- Strain the broth to remove all the aromatics and place back on the stove to keep warm.
- Place some noodles, wontons and char siu (optional) in a bowl and ladle the broth over the top.
- Garnish with green onions and fried wonton strips and serve.
