Ingredients

The following ingredients have 2 Servings
  • 50 gm All Purpose Flour
  • 50 gm Butter (unsalted )
  • 500 ml Whole Milk
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Cloves
  • 1/2 Onion (peeled )

Instruction

  • Heat the saucepan and melt butter, Add all purpose flour and stir continuously, cook for 1 minute.
  • It will form a paste, this paste is called as roux. Keep it aside and let it cool.
  • Boil milk in another saucepan, as it simmers, add half cut onion, bay leave, and clove. turn off the stove and let it rest for 20 minutes. Flavor of bay leaves and clove will infuse in the milk.
  • Discard onion, bay leaves and clove after 20 minutes and pour the infused milk in the roux. Continue to stir so that the white sauce doesn't form any lumps.
  • Cook on a low flame for another 5 - 10 minutes until the white sauce thickens. Remove from the stove and let it cool. White sauce is ready to be used for Lasagne.
