Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 1/2 cup whole mushrooms (about 1 cup sliced)
  • 1/2 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 large garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 tbsp or less of olive oil or avocado oil
  • 2 tbsp cream (coconut cream works too here if need be)
  • black pepper
  • sea salt
  • 4 pieces of gluten free bread
  • 1.5 to 2 oz cream cheese
  • fresh basil leaves

Instruction

  • wash and dry your mushrooms. Slice and place to the side.
  • Next, heat a skillet or cast iron skillet with butter on medium to medium high.
  • Add your garlic and lightly fry for 1 minute.
  • Next add your oil and mushrooms.
  • Mix all together and add pinch of salt and black pepper.
  • Sautee for 3 – 4 minutes on medium high.
  • Reduce to lower heat, not too low, and add cream.
  • Cook for a few more minutes or until mushrooms are done and nicely coated. Garlic will be browned.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Next toast your bread.
  • Smear .5 oz or less on each piece of bread.
  • Place 1/4 cup of the mushroom garlic mix on top of each piece.
  • Spoon the cream from the pan on top of the mushroom toast.
  • Garnish with 1 or 2 small basil leaves and more cracked pepper.
