Ingredients
The following ingredients have 2 Servings
- 1 and 1/2 cup Rice soaked in water for at least 1 hour.
- 1 thin sliced onion
- 3 to 4 to matoes (roughly chopped)
- 1/2 a cup green peas
- 2 carrots (finely chopped)
- 2 to 3 chopped green chilies
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 3 to 4 cloves
- 1 to 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 to 3 dry red chilies
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tsp dry mango powder
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 inch piece of grated ginger
- 4 to 5 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
- 2 tsp fresh lime juice
- 3 tbsp oil
- Fresh chopped green coriander for garnishing
- Maggi masala to be sprinkled on the top (optional)
Instruction
- Firstly take a wok add oil and heat it up. Add cumin seeds,bay leaves,ginger,garlic,cloves and dry red chilies. Saute it for few minutes.
- Now add onions and fry them till they turn translucent in color. Now add the tomatoes,peas,green chilies and carrots .
- Add sugar and all the dry spices.(turmeric powder,coriander powder,salt,dry mango powder and red chili powder) Stir the veggies properly,till they turn soft and starts leaving oil.
- After this take your soaked rice and add water around 2 cups and stir it nicely and cover it with a lid on a medium flame. After 15 minutes check the rice,if its done or under cooked.
- If it is under - cooked then keep it for more time. Lastly add lime juice and mix the tehri and switch off the flame.
- Serve the tehri by garnishing it with green coriander leaves and sprinkle maggi masala if you wish to add. Your Vegetable Tehri biryani rice is ready to eat with curd or pickle.
