Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 8 ounces extra firm tofu (drained and crumbled (1/2 a block))
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric ((for color - optional))
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 2 tablespoons gluten free hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon low sodium gluten free tamari
- 2 cups cooked brown or white rice (cooled)
- Salt and pepper
- 2 green onions (chopped and green parts reserved for garnish)
Instruction
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add crumbled tofu and turmeric. Cook until starting to brown, about 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper.
- Add carrots to the pan. Cook for several minutes until crisp tender.
- Add garlic, ginger, hoisin sauce, tamari, and more salt and pepper as needed. Cook 30 seconds.
- Add white parts of the green onion, peas, rice and cook for a few minutes longer.
- Top with the green parts of the green onion.
