Ingredients

The following ingredients have 3 Servings
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp biryani masala powder ( or garam masala(any ready made powder is ok, adjust to suit the spice levels))
  • 1/3 tsp red chili powder ( (adjust as needed))
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric
  • 1 cup curd (or 250 ml yogurt / dahi (not very thick and not very thin))
  • 4 tbsp ghee ( or oil)
  • strands saffron (Few )
  • 3 tbsps milk (hot or water to soak the saffron strands)
  • Raisins ( as needed)
  • Cashews ( as needed)
  • 1 onion (large , thinly sliced about 1/2 to 3/4 cup or store bought fried onions.)
  • 8 florets cauliflower (medium sized )
  • 1 potato (large , boiled, cubed (peel the skin and boil till ¾ done))
  • 1 carrot (large, chopped)
  • 1 handful green peas
  • 4 to 5 beans ( chopped)
  • 1 ½ tbsp Mint leaves ( / pudina minced)
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves ( chopped very finely)
  • 2 green chilies ( slit)
  • 2 inch cinnamon stick
  • 4 green cardamoms
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 2 strands mace (big)
  • 1 star anise
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ tsp shahi jeera
  • 1 ½ cups basmathi rice (aged )
  • ¼ tsp shahi jeera
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt ( to taste)
