Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 4 veal steaks
  • 1 onion finely chopped small
  • 125 g mushrooms sliced
  • 30g butter
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 2 tsp plain flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp Massel Beef Stock Powder
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste
  • 2 tbs cream

Instruction

  • Pound steaks out thinly.
  • Melt butter in a shallow pan, add veal steaks and cook quickly for 3-4 minutes, turning once. Remove from pan.
  • Add onion, cook for 2 minutes, then pour in sherry and bring to the boil.
  • Stir in flour, mix well. Remove from heat and stir in water and beef stock.
  • Return to heat, stir until sauce comes to the boil.
  • Return steaks to pan, add mushrooms and mix well.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover pan, simmer very gently for 8 minutes then stir through cream. Stir until heated through but do not boil.
