Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 2 small shallots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 4 ozs Veal sausage
  • 11 ozs Ground Veal
  • 2 ozs Quark
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsps breadcrumbs
  • 1 oz grated Parmesan
  • 4 sprigs marjoram
  • peppers
  • salt
  • 18 cannellini beans
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil (for the baking dish)
  • 1.5 pints Tomato sauce
  • 4 ozs Mozzarella

Instruction

  • Peel the shallots and garlic and finely chop.
  • Mix together shallots, garlic, sausage meat, ground meat, cheese, eggs, breadcrumbs and Parmesan thoroughly in a bowl.
  • Rinse marjoram, shake dry, pluck leaves and finely chop. Mix marjoram into the meat mixture and season with pepper and a little salt (the sausage meat is already salted).
  • Put the meat mixture into a piping bag and cut off the tip of the bag. Twist the top opening of the piping bag firmly.
  • Pipe filling into the cannelloni and arrange in an oiled baking dish (about 18 x 8 inches).
  • Spread tomato sauce on top. Bake in lower third of preheated oven at 360°F until bubbling, about 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, drain mozzarella and cut into small pieces. Sprinkle  over the cannelloni and bake until melted and golden, 10-15 minutes more. Let stand 4-5 minutes before serving.
