Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 9 inch pie crust (thawed according to package directions)
- 6 cups Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 5 tbsp flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 3/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup walnuts (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup butter (cold)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instruction
- In a large bowl, mix together apples, lemon juice, and molasses.
- Add in flour, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss to combine well. Stir in raisins and walnuts.
- Place pie crust into a deep dish pie plate. Fill with apple filling.
- For topping, place flour, cold butter, and brown sugar in a deep bowl. Using a pastry cutter or two knives, combine until you have coarse crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over pie.
- Cover with foil and bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
