- 1 cup hot water (for soaking the tamarind)
- 2 tomato
- 1 tsp whole black pepper
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp toor dal (/split pigeon pea)
- 1 tsp chana dal (/split chickpea)
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp ghee (/ clarified butter)
- 1 tsp black mustard seeds
- 8 curry Leaves
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves (/cilantro)
- 3 cups water
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp salt (or as required)
