Ingredients

The following ingredients have 8 Servings
  • 1 pound(s) ground beef
  • 1/2 pound(s) sweet italian sausage
  • 1 can(s) 15 oz chili beans, drained
  • 1 can(s) 15 oz chili beans in spicy sauce (undrained)
  • 1 can(s) 16 oz diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 can(s) 3 oz can tomatoe paste
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 - stalk celery chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper seeded and chopped
  • 1 can(s) (small size) chopped green chile peppers
  • 2 teaspoon(s) bacon bits
  • 2 - cubes beef bouillon
  • 1/4 cup(s) beer
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoon(s) minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoon(s) dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon(s) ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon(s) hot pepper sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) paprika
  • 1 teaspoon(s) white sugar
  • 1 cup(s) tomato juice

Instruction

  • Heat a large stock pot over medium heat . crumble the hamburger and sausage into the hot pan and cook until evenly browned, drain of excess grease
  • add rest of ingredients and stir until well blended
  • cover and simmer over low heat stirring occasionally for 2 hours. The longer it simmers the better
  • remove from heat and serve in bowls with shredded cheddar cheese on top or refrigerate and serve the next day
  • after cooking. may be put in a crock pot and left on low heat
  • You can use 1/8 cup of apple juice instead of the beer if you wish, and you can add more Tabasco if you like it really hot
