Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • Wheat flour - 2 cups
  • Egg - 1 (optional)
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - for frying
  • For making Sugar Syrup
  • Sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Water - 1/4 cup

Instruction

  • Add salt, egg, cardamom powder, oil to the wheat flour.
  • Add boiling water and knead the dough like as for chapati. Keep it covered for 30 min to 1 hour.
  • Pinch out large sized balls and start rolling it like chapathi (not so thin nor so thick).
  • In a dosa pan, put this and slightly heat on both sides.
  • Take this out and keep in a wooden board. Cut into diamond shaped pieces.
  • Deep fry these diamond shaped pieces and take it out.
  • Now prepare sugar syrup. In a pan, add water and sugar and heat thoroughly till it reaches one string consistency. Switch off the flame.
  • Put the fried diamond pieces into this sugar syrup and mix till it forms a coat over the diamond cuts.
