Ingredients

The following ingredients have 12 Servings
  • 2 cups self-rising flour + more for flouring hands and board
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup salted butter or shortening
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 475ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Whisk together flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or with two forks. Stir in buttermilk and apple cider until just combined.
  • Turn dough out onto a floured surface. Lightly flour hands and pull together the ball of dough. Gently pat the dough into large disc about 1/2-inch thick. Cut biscuits using a 2-inch cutter. Place biscuits onto prepared sheet pan and bake until lightly browned and cooked throughout, about 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and brush the tops with melted butter.
