Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 2 cups mixed raw nuts, (*or roasted nuts)
- 1 Tablespoon butter, (melted)
- 3 Tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon cayenne (* reduce to 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon for less spicy flavour)
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt, (or kosher salt)
- 2 cups small pretzel twists (gluten-free pretzels, if necessary)
Instruction
- Heat oven to 350°F. Spread the nuts on a baking sheet and roast for 10 minutes, stirring half way through. If you're using roasted nuts, you can skip this step.
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cayenne, and maple syrup.
- Add the warm nuts, stirring to coat. Next add the pretzels and coarse salt, and stir until coated.
- Spread the mixture on the baking sheet and bake for a further 12 - 18 minutes, stirring twice during cooking to ensure even toasting.
- Remove from oven, cool completely and separate the pieces. Store in an airtight container.
