Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 cups mixed raw nuts, (*or roasted nuts)
  • 1 Tablespoon butter, (melted)
  • 3 Tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon cayenne (* reduce to 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon for less spicy flavour)
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt, (or kosher salt)
  • 2 cups small pretzel twists (gluten-free pretzels, if necessary)

Instruction

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spread the nuts on a baking sheet and roast for 10 minutes, stirring half way through. If you're using roasted nuts, you can skip this step.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cayenne, and maple syrup.
  • Add the warm nuts, stirring to coat. Next add the pretzels and coarse salt, and stir until coated.
  • Spread the mixture on the baking sheet and bake for a further 12 - 18 minutes, stirring twice during cooking to ensure even toasting.
  • Remove from oven, cool completely and separate the pieces. Store in an airtight container.
