- 4 cups firm baking apples (4 medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped to 1/4" chunks)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 10 tablespoons butter (melted or your oil of choice)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats or gluten free oats
- 3/4 cup + 1 1/2 tablespoons oat flour or gluten-free oat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
