Ingredients
The following ingredients have 2 Servings
- 2 large eggs, (room temperature)
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 ounces cream cheese, (softened)
- 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
- 8 fresh strawberries, (rinsed, hulled, and thinly sliced)
- 8 slices Texas toast, (lightly toasted in toaster)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- confectioners' sugar, (for dusting)
- whipped topping, (for topping (optional))
Instruction
- In a medium bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a separate medium bowl, combine cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, and strawberry jam. Mix well until creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over 8 slices of lightly toasted bread.
- Top 4 slices of toast with strawberries, and then place the remaining slices of toast on top, cream cheese side down.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add butter.
- While the butter is melting, dip the sandwiches in the egg mixture, carefully coating both sides.
- Add the sandwiches to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Flip and cook an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Dust with confectioners' sugar and top with whipped topping. Serve immediately.
