Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 3 cups Fresh Strawberries, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 4 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instruction

  • Combine the water, cornstarch, and 1 cup of strawberries in a food processor or blender. Puree until blended. Transfer the strawberry puree to a small saucepan.
  • Cut the remaining strawberries into quarters (or halves if they're small). Add the strawberries to the saucepan with the strawberry puree mixture.
  • Stir in the sugar, lemon zest and the vanilla extract.
  • Cook the strawberry sugar mixture over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until it comes to a boil.
  • Reduce heat the low and cook for 5 minutes. Serve over waffles or pancakes.
