Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 15.25 ounce box cake mix ( white or yellow)
  • ⅓ cup butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup strawberries (mashed)
  • ½ cup strawberry preserves
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (at room temperature, optional)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9 x 13-inch cake pan with nonstick spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine cake mix, butter, and egg. Mix with a fork just until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup crumbs for topping.
  • Press the remaining crumbs in the bottom of the cake pan. Bake for 10 minutes
  • Combine strawberries and preserves and stir.
  • In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, vanilla, and sugar with a mixer; mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread strawberry mixture over partially cooked crust. Next spread cream cheese mixture over strawberries. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Bake 25 minutes.
  • Cool 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving. Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
