Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 15.25 ounce box cake mix ( white or yellow)
- ⅓ cup butter (at room temperature)
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup strawberries (mashed)
- ½ cup strawberry preserves
- 8 ounces cream cheese (at room temperature, optional)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9 x 13-inch cake pan with nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, butter, and egg. Mix with a fork just until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup crumbs for topping.
- Press the remaining crumbs in the bottom of the cake pan. Bake for 10 minutes
- Combine strawberries and preserves and stir.
- In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, vanilla, and sugar with a mixer; mix until smooth and creamy.
- Spread strawberry mixture over partially cooked crust. Next spread cream cheese mixture over strawberries. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Bake 25 minutes.
- Cool 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving. Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
