Ingredients

The following ingredients have 16 Servings
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs (lightly beaten, (at room temperature))
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate squares ((coarsely chopped))
  • Your favorite caramel sauce recipe or jarred sauce.
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • sea salt

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line a 9 x 9-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large pan, heat butter over low-medium heat. Melt butter and add sugar. Stir to combine.
  • Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Carefully pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir to combine, but don't over mix.
  • Add the baking chocolate and stir until all the pieces are melted and mixed into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center will still be a slight bit sticky when removed.
  • Remove the brownies from the oven and allow to cool completely before topping with caramel sauce.
