Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 slices of Italian bread
  • 1 4- oz eye round steak
  • 2 oz sliced sharp white cheddar (My favorite is Cabot)
  • 1/4 cup sliced yellow onion
  • Salt
  • Fresh cracked pepper

Instruction

  • Preheat the cooking pan on medium heat with a little bit of oil.
  • Season the steak with salt and pepper and saute until it reaches desired temperature. Set aside to cool until it can be handled.
  • Meanwhile, saute onions in the same pan with a little bit of salt, on medium-high heat, until golden brown. Set aside.
  • Slice the steak thinly.
  • Layer bread, half the cheese, steak, onions, remaining cheese and second slice of bread in the cooking pan.
  • Cook on medium until the cheese is melted and bread is nicely toasted.
