Ingredients
The following ingredients have 24 Servings
- 4 egg brought to room temperature
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cup wheaten cornflour
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 160 g butter
- 3 tbs milk
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 170C degrees fan forced. Grease and line bottom of 2 x 20cm cake tins.
- With an electric mixer, beat eggs for 5 minutes. Add sugar a little at a time and beat for approximately 20 minutes at high speed. Add vanilla and mix.
- Sift dry ingredients 3 times and add dry ingredients a little at a time to eggs.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and milk. Add while hot to mixture. Mix all ingredients well in a folding motion.
- Divide mixture evenly between 2 tins. Bake for approximately 20 - 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool in tin for several minutes before turning out.
