- 1 ½ Tablespoon vegetable oil (separated)
- 3 shallots (chopped)
- 1 ½ Tablespoon fresh grated ginger
- 8 Large garlic cloves (minced)
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup lime juice
- ⅓ cup water
- ⅓ cup chili garlic sauce
- 3 Tablespoons dark brown sugar
- ½ cup Thai basil or Italian basil (chopped)
- 2 green onions (green parts only, chopped)
- 1 lime (cut into wedges)
- Red pepper flakes (for adding more heat, optional)
- Sriracha (for adding more heat, optional)
