Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 32 ounces Pear Juice (R. W. Knudsens works well)
- 24 ounces Hard Cider (Angry Orchard Easy Apple works well)
- 6 ounces Ginger Liqueur (De Kuypers or Domaine De Canton work well)
- 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
- 12 whole cloves
- 12 whole allspice
- 4 cinnamon sticks (halved)
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- 2- inch knob fresh ginger root (peeled and rough chopped)
- 1 Apple (sliced)
- 1 Pear (sliced)
- Garnishes: Star Anise (Sliced pears, cinnamon sticks)
Instruction
- Combine all ingredients (except the garnishes) in a large stovetop pan or Dutch oven set over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer 30-60 minutes before serving. If serving over several hours (or if making ahead), place the cider in a slow-cooker placed on warm temperature.
- Serve in heatproof mugs and garnish with cinnamon stick, star anise and pear or apple slices.
