Ingredients
The following ingredients have 29 Servings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (ground )
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (ground )
- pinch cloves (ground )
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter (unsalted, room temperature)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 large apple (grated (I used Cortland))
- Add-ins:1/2 cup dried cranberries or nuts or chopped dates or raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350℉/175℃. Set rack in the center of the oven.
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Whisk together both flours, baking soda, spices and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl (of stand mixer), with whisk attachment, on high speed, beat the butter with the sugar until light colored. (3-4 minutes)
- Add eggs, one at a time and mix well. Make sure to scrape down the bowl after each addition.
- With mixer on low speed, add half the flour mixture, followed by all the milk, followed by the other half of flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Gently combine grated apple and add-in(if using).
- With a medium sized scooper, place dough on baking sheet.
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes.
- Cool on wire racks.
