Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, (divided)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large white onion, (finely chopped)
- 6 cloves garlic, (minced)
- 16 ounces tomato sauce
- 16 ounces diced tomatoes
- 12 ounces tomato paste
- 2/3 cup Merlot wine*
- 2 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
Instruction
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the ground beef to a large saucepan and brown the meat over medium heat, stirring regularly.
- Once the meat is browned, drained the fat and add in the remaining olive oil and the onions and cook for about 5 minutes or until the onions become translucent.
- Add in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring regularly to ensure that the garlic does not burn.
- Add in the remaining ingredients and stir to combine, simmer over medium-low heat for 30 to 40 minutes until sauce reaches desired thickness.
- Serve over pasta, with bread, or whatever else you feel like.
