Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 4 yellow onions (medium - large)
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (finely shredded)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (more to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • hot sauce (optional)

Instruction

  • Heat butter over low to medium low heat. Peel and slice onions into rings about 1/8 inch - 1/4 inch thick. Cook the onions slowly in the butter for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
  • Remove onions from heat and let cool. Chop into small pieces.
  • In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Stir in the mayo, Worcestershire, and seasonings.
  • Fold in the cheddar cheese and then the cooled caramelized onions until well combined. 
  • Serve at room temperature or chilled with your favorite Cape Cod Chips and Snyder's of Hanover Pretzel snacks.
  • Refrigerate any leftovers.
