Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 4 yellow onions (medium - large)
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (finely shredded)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (more to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- hot sauce (optional)
Instruction
- Heat butter over low to medium low heat. Peel and slice onions into rings about 1/8 inch - 1/4 inch thick. Cook the onions slowly in the butter for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove onions from heat and let cool. Chop into small pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Stir in the mayo, Worcestershire, and seasonings.
- Fold in the cheddar cheese and then the cooled caramelized onions until well combined.
- Serve at room temperature or chilled with your favorite Cape Cod Chips and Snyder's of Hanover Pretzel snacks.
- Refrigerate any leftovers.
