Ingredients
The following ingredients have 60 Servings
- 5 cups all purpose
- 1 1/2 baking soda
- 1/2 salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 eggs
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- Frosting for Cookies
- Sprinkle Pop Sprinkle Mixes
Instruction
- Sift the flour, baking soda, salt and spices.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Add in the egg, molasses and vinegar. Beat until well blended.
- Blend the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
- Divide the dough into two or three separate rolled large logs and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Remove logs individually, and roll out dough with a rolling pin to desired thickness. The thinner you roll the dough, the crisper the finished cookie.
- Cut our your shapes using cookie cutters and transfer to a prepared cookie sheet. Keep rolling out dough scraps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake cookies in preheated oven for 9-11 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to rest on sheet for a couple of minutes but no longer than 5. Move to cooling rack and allow to cool completely before decorating. Repeat with remaining dough until you've made all the cookies.
- Once cookies are cooled, frost with frosting and sprinkle on sprinkles or decorate as desired.
- I love these cookies with literally nothing on them, but they look incredibly adorable decorated so you do you!
