Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 2 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tbsp light brown sugar
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg egg
- 1 cup candy canes (crushed)
- 12 oz white chocolate chips
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, light brown sugar and softened butter with a mixer until thoroughly combined. I used a stand mixer for this step, but you can use a hand mixer as well.
- Add egg and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until combined.
- Add the dry ingredients to the larger bowl with the sugar mixture and mix until it turns into a dough.
- Use a cookie scoop or measure the dough into 1 ½ heaping tablespoons. Place the dough on the parchment paper.
- Use the underside of a cup to flatten out the cookie dough.
- Bake for 7-8 minutes. Remove cookies from oven before they start to brown.
- Place cookies on a wire rack to cool. While cookies are cooling, remove the wrapper and placing the candy canes in a zip top bag and seal. Crush the candy canes by using a rolling pin. Leave some large chunks intact.
- Melt chocolate chips in small batches in microwave according to package directions.
- Dip the cookies in the melted white chocolate or spoon the white chocolate on half of the cookie.
- Sprinkle with crushed candy canes.
- Let the chocolate harden and then these candy cane cookies are ready to eat!
