Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 pound smoked sausage
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion (chopped or about 1 cup)
  • 1 green pepper (chopped or about 1/2 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • few drops hot sauce (Optional)
  • 1 14.5 ounce can chicken broth
  • 1 14.5 ounce diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 4 ounce can green chilis, drained
  • 2 1/2 cups uncooked rotini pasta (could use shells, macaroni, penne)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese of your choice (could use more cheese. I used Mozzarella cheese)

Instruction

  • Melt butter in skillet and brown sausage, onion and green pepper.
  • Add garlic, salt, pepper, chicken broth, tomatoes, green chilis and pasta.
  • Bring to a boil and let cook on low, uncovered,  until pasta is tender about 20 minutes.
  • Sprinkle on cheese while still hot.
