Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 5 to 7 pound spiral sliced ham
  • 6 oz jar Maraschino cherries (if they have stems remove the stems)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup bourbon
  • 3 Tbsps honey
  • 3 Tbsps Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsps dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instruction

  • Set your smoker to 250 and put the ham directly on the grate for 1 hour.
  • Put the cherries (with juice), brown sugar, bourbon, honey, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ginger, garlic, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to medium low and simmer 12 to 15 minutes, stirring a few times.Note: Watch carefully as it comes to a boil, if it starts to bubble over just remove from the heat for a moment.
  • Mash the cherries (I used a potato masher).
  • Carefully transfer the ham to a casserole dish or foil pan. Pour some or all the glaze over the ham (depending on if you want to save some to serve drizzled over top).
  • Place it back on the smoker for 1 to 1 1/2 more hours or until internal temperature is 140 degrees.Note: If glaze seems to be sticking to bottom of pan, add a small amount of water.
