Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 kg beef chuck steak, cubed
  • 2 tbs vegetable oil
  • 3 onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 2 cups Massel Beef Style Liquid Stock
  • 500 g button mushrooms, halved

Instruction

  • Season the flour with salt and pepper and toss the chuck steak in it to coat.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan and brown the steak in small batches.
  • When all the steak in browned add the onions to the pan and cook until translucent. Add the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add the beef stock and return the beef to the pan.
  • Stir in the mushrooms and bring to the boil.
  • Pour all into the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
