Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- 1 pound ground turkey (or chicken)
- 1/4 cup yellow onion (finely minced)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1/2 cup whole-wheat panko breadcrumbs (lightly pulsed in a food processor)
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 24 ounces marinara (jar, no sugar added)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (fat-free, shredded)
Instruction
- Preheat oven to high broil and spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
- Combine all ingredients, except marinara, chicken broth, and parmesan in a large bowl and mix well. Form into 1 inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet. Broil for about 5 minutes until lightly browned (meatballs will not be fully cooked).
- Place the browned meatball the slow cooker and add the marinara and broth. Cook on low for 4 hours. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve.
