Ingredients

The following ingredients have 15 Servings
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 ½ cups cornmeal
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs (whisked)
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup corn kernels (fresh or frozen)

Instruction

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • In a small bowl, combine the eggs, buttermilk and melted butter.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
  • Mix well, then add the shredded cheddar and corn.
  • Line the inside of a slow cooker with non-stick foil.
  • Pour the cornbread batter into the slow cooker.
  • Cook on high for 2-3 hours.
  • Use the edges of the foil to lift and remove the cornbread from the slow cooker.
  • Slice the cornbread into 15 squares.
