Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 3 pound boneless lean pork shoulder
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Dry Rub
  • 2 teaspoons Smoked Paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar
  • BBQ Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons organic low sodium tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup

Instruction

  • Slice the onions and place them into the slow cooker.
  • Mix the spice rub ingredients together and rub them into the meat.
  • Place the meat on top of the onions, cover and cook for 4 1/2 to 5 hours on low.
  • Mix up the ingredients for the bbq sauce.
  • Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it. 
  • Add the shredded meat back into the slow cooker and pour in the sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low for at least 1 hour longer.
