Ingredients
The following ingredients have 6 Servings
- 2 pound(s) red potatoes
- 1 tablespoon(s) butter, melted
- 1/2 pound(s) bacon
- 4 ounce(s) grated gruyere cheese
- to taste - salt and pepper
Instruction
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Butter a 9 inch pie dish.
- Arrange the bacon slices on the bottom and sides of the dish. Make sure some of the slices overhang the edges of the dish slightly.
- Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.
- Rinse the potato slices and dry completely.
- Place 1/3 of the potato slices over the bacon in the dish.
- Sprinkle 1/3 of the cheese ove the potatoes.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
- Repeat these layers twice more.
- Fold the overhanging bacon on the top
- Place in the oven and bake for 50 minutes or until done. You can check by piercing the potatoes with a fork to see if they are tender.
- Let stand 2 minutes before slicing.
