Ingredients

The following ingredients have 6 Servings
  • 2 pound(s) red potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon(s) butter, melted
  • 1/2 pound(s) bacon
  • 4 ounce(s) grated gruyere cheese
  • to taste - salt and pepper

Instruction

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Butter a 9 inch pie dish.
  • Arrange the bacon slices on the bottom and sides of the dish. Make sure some of the slices overhang the edges of the dish slightly.
  • Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.
  • Rinse the potato slices and dry completely.
  • Place 1/3 of the potato slices over the bacon in the dish.
  • Sprinkle 1/3 of the cheese ove the potatoes.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Repeat these layers twice more.
  • Fold the overhanging bacon on the top
  • Place in the oven and bake for 50 minutes or until done. You can check by piercing the potatoes with a fork to see if they are tender.
  • Let stand 2 minutes before slicing.
