Ingredients
The following ingredients have 12 Servings
- 1 lb breakfast sausage, raw ground (buy the maple kind if you want a hint of sweetness)
- 12 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp cayenne
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 16 oz cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
- 1 bunch green onions, optional (about ½ cup)
- 1 lb hash browns, thawed
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
Instruction
- Heat oven to 350°F.Heat a large skillet over medium heat
- Brown the sausage (If you buy sausage links, make sure to remove the casting first.)In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the salt, pepper, cayenne and whipping cream until fully combined and all of the yolks are broken and incorporated.Add the browned crumbled sausage, ¾ of the cheese, green onions and hash browns to the bowl with the egg mixture
- Stir until fully combined.Spread the butter into a 9x13 baking dish
- Pour the egg and sausage mixture into the baking dish and top with remaining cheese.Bake for 40 minutes before covering with foil
- Bake for another 15 minutes with foil on so the top doesn't get too brown.
