Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 1 pound(s) sausage, sage
- 1 cup(s) onion, diced
- 1 cup(s) celery, diced
- 1 1/2 cup(s) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 1/2 cup(s) chicken broth, low salt
- 1 package(s) herb stuffing mix (my preference is Pepperidge Farm)
- 1/2 cup(s) butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon(s) oregano, dried
- 1 teaspoon(s) sage, dried
Instruction
- Crumble and brown sausage.
- Saute onions and celery until soft, then add mushrooms for approximately 2 minutes. Drain all grease.
- In a large bowl, add stuffing mix, browned sausage, onions, mushrooms, and celery.
- Slowly sprinkle seasonings while stirring until well blended.
- Add broth, stir until well blended then drizzle butter while stirring.
- Pour into a casserole dish. Bake in a covered dish at 350° for 35 minutes.
- This may also be stuffed into your turkey by spooning it in the cavity loosely then pinning the bird to hold the stuffing. Bake according to directions on turkey.
