Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 4 thick Pork Chops
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 Yellow onion sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 4 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 3 Granny smith apples peeled and cored
  • 1/4 cup Apple cider
  • 3/4 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch

Instruction

  • Season pork chops with salt & pepper to taste. Set aside. Take cored & peeled apples and cut into slices. Heat a medium sized saucepan and add oil. Add sliced onion and garlic and saute until softened. Add pork chops and sear each side for 1-2 minutes. Set porkchops with onion and garlic in a 13 x 9 baking pan, cover, and place in warm oven at 200 deg F, while making apples. In a separate small sauce pan, melt butter. Add brown sugar, apples, apple cider, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir occasionally until apples are just beginning to get tender. When your apples are almost tender, increase your oven temperature to 350 deg F. Add a tablespoon of conrnstarch to saucepan on stove to thicken sauce and stir for another minute. Pour sauce over porkchops and bake covered in oven at 350 deg for 30-35 minutes.
