  • 4 ripe tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 8 slices Whole-grain baguette
  • salt
  • coarsely ground peppers
  • 2 Tbsps olive oil

Instruction

  • Rinse tomatoes, pat dry and cut in half. Peel the garlic and cut in half.
  • Toast the bread slices until golden brown on both sides in a dry grill pan (or under a heated broiler).
  • Let bread slices cool slightly, then rub with the cut garlic. (If you like, cut the garlic into thin slices and reserve for garnish.)
  • Top bread with tomato halves, squeezing out pulp (or scooping with a spoon) so bread can soak up juices. 
  • Season toasts with salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil, garnish with sliced ​​garlic (if desired) and serve.
