Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 2 quarts water
  • 2 cups light brown sugar (packed)
  • ½ cup salted butter
  • 4-6 cinnamon sticks
  • 8-10 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 ½ cups spiced or dark rum
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

Instruction

  • Place the water, brown sugar, butter, and all spices in a large crock pot. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  • Cover the slow cooker for 3+ hours on HIGH heat or 6+ hours on LOW heat.
  • When ready to serve, whisk in the rum and heavy cream. Taste, and add a pinch of salt or extra cayenne if needed. Ladle into mugs and serve warm.
