Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 cup Red Lentils / Dhuli Masoor Dal
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic (Chopped)
  • 1 cup Onion (Chopped)
  • 2 Jalapeno Peppers (Chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Carrots (Chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Peas
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Puree
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 cup Coconut milk

Instruction

  • Heat olive oil in a large heavy bottom pan.
  • Add garlic and fry till light brown in color.
  • Add onions and pepper and fry for a minute.
  • Now add carrots, peas, lentils, tomato puree, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  • Next. add 6 cups of water and cover and cook till lentils are soft and tender.
  • Lastly, add coconut milk and lemon juice.
  • Serve hot with some bread.
