Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 cup Sooji (Rawa)
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 2/3 rd cup Ghee
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Dates
  • 3/4 cup Raisins
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder

Instruction

  • Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan and roast dates and raisins for a minute and keep it aside.
  • Now add Sooji in the ghee and roast it on a medium flame till it is golden brown in color.
  • Keep stirring constantly or else it may stick on the pan.
  • Once the sooji is properly roasted and leaving its aroma add water and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Cook till the water has been absorbed properly and sooji is cooked.
  • At this stage add sugar and cardamom powder and cook for another 2-3 minutes till the sugar melts and mixed properly in the halwa.
  • Remove it in a bowl and add ghee roasted dates and raisins in it and serve it hot.
