Ingredients

The following ingredients have 4 Servings
  • 1 cup grated bottle gourd (doodhi / lauki)
  • 2 cups low-fat milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cardamom (elaichi powder)
  • 1/2 cup Almond and Pistachio shavings for garnishing

Instruction

  • Combine the milk and bottle gourd in a deep non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 10 to 15 minutes or till the bottle gourd is cooked while stirring occasionally and scraping the sides of the pan.
  • Add the sugar, mix well, and cook on a medium flame or another 1 to 2 minutes or till the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Keep aside to cool completely and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Serve chilled with almond and pistachio shavings.
