Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 75 g (⅓ cup) unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 75 g (⅓ cup) sugar
- 75 g (½ cup + 2 tbsp) ground almonds
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- 1 large egg
- couple drops almond extract ( or zest of 1 lemon)
- 250 g (2 cups) strong bread flour
- 150 g (⅔ cup) cold unsalted butter (cubed)
- 120 ml (½ cup) skimmed milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 ½ tsp yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg yolk beaten with 1tsp water to glaze
- 100 g (scant 1 cup) flaked almonds
- 150 g (1 ½ cups) icing sugar (sifted)
- 3 tbsp milk or water (as needed)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
