Ingredients

The following ingredients have 12 Servings
  • 13.5 ounces all-purpose flour (3 cups)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, (or 1/4 teaspoon table salt)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (chilled, cut into small pieces)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream ((add 2 teaspoons for high altitude baking))
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar ((use 2 teaspoons for high altitude baking))
  • 2 tablespoons ice water or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 1/4 cups peeled and diced apples, (Honey Crisp, Braeburn and Fuji work well)
  • 3 tablespoons coconut sugar (or 2 1/2 tablespoons of granulated sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon Lightly Dried Ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Pinch kosher salt (or table salt)
  • 1 tablespoon half and half milk
  • 1 teaspoon Turbinado sugar
