  • 2 onion (thinly sliced)

  • 1 tbsp chili powder ((heaping) (18 mL))
  • 1 tsp cumin (ground)
  • 1 cup lentils, green ((250 mL))
  • 1 19 oz can chickpeas (or your favourite beans; rinsed and drained)
  • 2 cups water ((500 mL))
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt ((2 mL))
  • 1⁄2 tsp hot sauce (your favourite)
  • head lettuce (Bibb or iceberg)
  • 12 taco shells (hard)
  • few handfuls cheddar cheese (or taco blend; shredded)
  • salsa (Your favourite)
  • large bunch cilantro (fresh)
  • 2 lime (cut into wedges)
