Ingredients
The following ingredients have 4 Servings
- one 3 lb pork shoulder or pork butt roast strings removed
- 12 ounces root beer
- one 18 ounce bottle barbecue sauce (your favorite)
- 4 cups bagged coleslaw mix
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons yellow mustard (more to taste)
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar or apple cider vinegar (more to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon white sugar (more to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 hamburger or kaiser buns (split in half)
Instruction
- Place the pork roast in a slow cooker. Pour the root beer over top and cook, covered, on low until meat is tender, around 8-10 hours.
- Remove the roast and cool slightly.
- Discard the roast cooking juices.
- Shred the pork with two forks and then return to the slow cooker.
- Stir in your favorite barbecue sauce.
- Cover and heat again until heated through, about 30 minutes.
- Prepare the coleslaw by mixing together the ingredients.
- Lightly toast the buns, then place on a plate.
- Take a scoop of the hot pulled pork and place on each bun bottom, top with coleslaw, then place the top of the bun on top.
