Ingredients

The following ingredients have 2 Servings
  • 100 grams jaggery (crushed)
  • 1/2 cup water (approx)
  • 200 grams puffed rice / pori
  • 1 tsp ghee (/clarified butter)

Instruction

  • In a pan, add jaggery and water. Allow it to boil till jaggery melts completely. Then sieve it for any impurities.
  • Again boil till hard ball consistency. To test this stage, pour little drops of jaggery mix on to a bowl of water if the jaggery settles down and if you could make a ball out of this settled down jaggery. Then it is an ideal time to remove it from the fire and keep aside.
  • Mix crispy puffed rice on to the jaggery syrup and combine them well.
  • When you can bear the heat, wet your hands with ghee and start making balls. Tighten them a little to form even spherical balls.
  • Store Pori Urundai in air tight container.
