Ingredients

The following ingredients have 3 Servings
  • 2 cups 100% pomegranate juice, I always use POM Wonderful
  • 1/4 resh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup chipotle peppers, chopped very fine
  • 1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 T yellow mustard
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instruction

  • Combine pomegranate juice, lemon juice and sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and keep at a very strong simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reduces to a syrup consistency that coats your spoon. (By the way...what you've just created is called pomegranate molasses, which can be used in many different recipes).
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to saucepan, bring back to a boil then reduce heat and simmer until mixture thickens to a bbq sauce consistency.
