Ingredients
The following ingredients have 3 Servings
- 2 cups 100% pomegranate juice, I always use POM Wonderful
- 1/4 resh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup chipotle peppers, chopped very fine
- 1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 T yellow mustard
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instruction
- Combine pomegranate juice, lemon juice and sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and keep at a very strong simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reduces to a syrup consistency that coats your spoon. (By the way...what you've just created is called pomegranate molasses, which can be used in many different recipes).
- Add the rest of the ingredients to saucepan, bring back to a boil then reduce heat and simmer until mixture thickens to a bbq sauce consistency.
