Ingredients
The following ingredients have 8 Servings
- 1 pound of elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons salt for macaroni water
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
- 8 ounces white cheddar cheese (see notes)
- 4 ounces gruyere
- 4 cups half and half (or whole milk)
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 1 poblano pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- 4 slices tuscan type bread (cut into one inch cubes (or use heavy farmhouse bread).)
